Sunshine and speed in the Bahamas

Sunshine and speed in the Bahamas
10 Oct 2013

The Bahamas is most readily associated with sunbathing and relaxation, but this December the island is all about fast cars and high octane thrills as it once again prepares to host Speed Week.

Taking place over five days from 4 to 8 December, Speed Week will see classic car owners from across the world descend on the Bahamas, including entrants from the UK, who will ship their motors across the Atlantic.

The event also attracts plenty of star names, including the likes of Formula 1 legend Sir Stirling Moss, who was the patron of Speed Week last year.

'I have raced in locations around the world, but I don't think we have ever enjoyed friendlier hospitality or a more beautiful setting than we did in Nassau last year,' he commented.

This year's event will see racing return to Nassau for the first time in almost 50 years, with Formula Junior, Austin Healey and vintage Mini races. ADNFCR-408-ID-801647894-ADNFCR
