Get your Christmas shopping done in Italy

Get your Christmas shopping done in Italy
20 Nov 2013

If you're bored of shopping on the British high street for Christmas presents, why not book cheap flights to Italy and buy your gifts there this festive season instead?

The country's Christmas markets are the ideal place to shop for friends and relatives, and are brimming with traditional festive cheer to get you in the mood for the big day.

Depending on your preference you could either opt for a city break or something a bit more rural.

In Rome, the place to be is the Piazza Navona Christmas Market, which is being held between 8 December and 6 January. It's a great place to buy sweets and decorations. In Florence, the Mercato Tedesco di Natale (German Christmas Market) has rows of wooden huts selling Italian and German produce.

Outside the big cities, Arco on the shores of Lake Garda hosts a hugely atmospheric market selling candles, lanterns, decorations, local products and toys.ADNFCR-408-ID-801662802-ADNFCR
