The NFL is launching a marketing campaign in the UK to encourage British fans of American football catch flights to the USA to watch a game. 

It has become one of Brand USA's first sports league partners on the 'Live Entertainment' platform, which aims to boost their profile in a bid to attract more visitors from overseas.

More than 700,000 fans attended the events around two NFL games hosted recently by London, showing British fans have a real appetite for the sport.

'NFL is very much a part of American culture, with an exciting game-day experience that is unique to the United States,' commented Christopher Thompson, president of Brand USA.  

'Brand USA wants to invite fans from abroad to experience the energy ... of an NFL game.'

The tourism board also recently launched a 'United States of Sports' map featuring videos detailing the activities on offer across the country.ADNFCR-408-ID-801663245-ADNFCR
