Starbucks launches Swiss airport train

Starbucks launches Swiss airport train
6 Dec 2013

There's already one on every corner, and now Starbucks has entered the railway world after launching its first train outlet in conjunction with Swiss Federal Railways.

The international coffee brand will serve customers onboard the Geneva Airport to St Gallen service.

On the outside, the train carriage has been emblazoned with the instantly recognisable white and green 'Siren' Starbucks logo, while inside the car, Starbucks has fitted two wooden bars for customers to drink off and a small counter and pastry cabinet for service.

'It was an incredible ... challenge to design our first ever Starbucks store on a train,' commented Liz Muller, director of concept design.

'We had to combine functionality and beautiful design, whilst taking into account a variety of factors such as constant movement of the train.'

Starbucks, which began in Seattle's Pike Place Market in 1971, currently has more than 17,000 stores in over 50 countries worldwide. ADNFCR-408-ID-801669487-ADNFCR
