KLM launches 'Wannagives'
9 Dec 2013

KLM has launched a unique gift-giving product on its intercontinental routes and longer-distance European flights.

Those wanting to treat a friend, relative or partner flying with KLM can use the carrier's 'Wannagives' service to deliver them an in-flight surprise, such as a glass of Champagne, which will come with a card so they know who it's from, Travel Daily Media reports.

The product has been introduced owing to customer demand, according to Martijn van der Zee, senior vice-president of e-commerce at Air France KLM.

'On Facebook and Twitter we often received requests to surprise travellers for their honeymoon, birthday or anniversary. It was quite a logical step to facilitate this,' he said.

The airline has been working hard on customer service recently, having also just introduced live updates to its Twitter account. Those messaging KLM for information are now given a waiting time, updated every five minutes.ADNFCR-408-ID-801670267-ADNFCR
