Celebrate Burns Night in Edinburgh

Celebrate Burns Night in Edinburgh
9 Jan 2014

Fans of malt whisky and haggis might want to look at booking cheap flights to Edinburgh to celebrate Burns Night in style.

The birthday of Scotland's national Bard is commemorated every 25 January with a night of frivolity - which in the capital signals the end of the Winter Festival.

Although you could organise your own Burns Night meal at home, there's nothing quite like seeing the haggis piped in before the master of ceremonies gives a stirring recital of Burns' 'To a Haggis' in a thick Scottish accent.

Venues across Edinburgh will be hosting Burns Night events, including the Whiski Bar and Restaurant, which stocks around 270 single malt whiskies, as well as numerous blended varieties.

Other Burns Night traditions include the 'Toast to the Lassies' and the women's reply, as well as a stirring rendition of 'Auld Lang Syne' as everyone joins hands to round off the evening.ADNFCR-408-ID-801680737-ADNFCR
