Business trips to Norway given boost

Business trips to Norway given boost
27 Jan 2014

Business trips to destinations around Norway have been given a boost by the establishment of new domestic flights in the country by one of the UK's biggest domestic airlines, bmi Regional.

The carrier, which separated from parent company BMI when it was acquired by Lufthansa and folded into British Airways, will offer new direct routes to two of Norway's fastest-growing regions, Stavanger and Northern Norway.

As a result, business personnel visiting the country will be able to visit key oil and gas industry hubs at Harstad/Narvik Airport (evenes) and Tromso without having to connect at Oslo. Flights are also being launched to Kristiansund and Gothenburg, for added connectivity.

Commercial director of Stavanger Airport Ina Eldoy said that previous research had suggested direct routes between Stavanger-Harstad and Stavanger-Tromso could save business travellers significant time and money.

"We are delighted that bmi are delivering on this opportunity and we wish them every success," she added.ADNFCR-408-ID-801686665-ADNFCR
