Amadeus to launch baggage reconciliation system

Amadeus to launch baggage reconciliation system
29 Jan 2014

Software specialist Amadeus Airport BRS is set to develop a brand new baggage reconciliation system that has been described by the company as 'groundbreaking'.

The system will offer a simplified version of the existing baggage management process, real-time automated loading and easy to use tracking.

Icelandair has been named as the transport hub's official partner in the project, which could be deployed as early as mid-2014 on all of its worldwide flights from Keflavik International Airport.

Ástþór Ingason, vice-president for ground operations at Icelandair, said the vision represents 'a remarkable vision with Amadeus’ baggage technology'.

'Not only will we save on the heavy costs of complex teletype messaging technology, but will gain baggage handling accuracy.'

For passengers travelling to and from Keflavik International Airport, the software will mean an improvement in punctuality and quicker baggage delivery, while ground handlers will also experience the benefits of operating a much more user-friendly and efficient system.ADNFCR-408-ID-801687974-ADNFCR
