British Airways expands Caribbean service

British Airways expands Caribbean service
7 Feb 2014

The number of flights to Caribbean destinations offered by British Airways is set to expand, the airline has announced.

Starting on 26 October, the airline's improved winter schedule will include a new twice-weekly direct service to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic for the first time, costing from £592 per person. Previously, the thrice-weekly flights were indirect.

Commenting on the additions, Colm Lacy, British Airways' Gatwick commercial director, said: 'These extra flights mean families and holidaymakers will have even more choice where to enjoy the winter sunshine.

'This builds on the extra flights we introduced for our summer 2014 season, thanks to adding an extra Boeing 777 to our long-haul Gatwick fleet.'

British Airways now has ten long-haul Boeing 777-200s based at the London hub. The 'Triple Seven', which was developed in conjunction with the airline, is renowned for its fuel efficiency and cabin comfort, making it perfect for these longer journeys. ADNFCR-408-ID-801691195-ADNFCR
