Heathrow to develop business centre

Heathrow to develop business centre
11 Feb 2014

Businessmen who regularly fly in and out of Heathrow will no doubt be pleased to learn that the hub airport will develop its first independent business centre, allowing for travellers to use their 'virtual offices' while on the go.

The project, which will be carried out in partnership with global workspace provider Regus, will see the creation of dedicated business lounges that have facilities for checking emails, making conference calls, holding meetings and printing documents.

Secure Wi-Fi and private workstations to be known as 'ThinkPods' will also be provided, with Regus administering an hourly charge.

While paid Wi-Fi options are a common feature in airports, they often struggle with the demands of so many people using them at once - something flexible workers will hope is not an issue with Regus' solution.

The move is in response to a growing demand for having what is referred to as a third place work location at airports, and the facilities are likely to be popular as they often represent the last chance to connect with the workplace before boarding a plane.

It is anticipated that they will also be used by those who are waiting in Heathrow for a connecting flight.

"We are delighted to welcome Regus Express to Heathrow. More business passengers pass through Heathrow than any other airport in the world, making the opening of this centre at Terminal 5 an innovative solution for our customers," commented Stephen Wilkinson, Heathrow’s property director.

Phil Kemp, global managing director of Regus Third Place, added: "There has long been a need for more accessible business services and productive workspace at airports and we are delighted that Regus Express will soon become a fixture in the UK’s hub airport."

He added that the company will continue its mission to expand its global network, thus providing flexible workers with the opportunity to work productively no matter their location.ADNFCR-408-ID-801692462-ADNFCR
