Ten new retail outlets open at Gatwick
17 Feb 2014

Passengers flying from Gatwick Airport can now enjoy an enhanced shopping experience after ten new stores opened in the departure area of the South Terminal.

The final phase of the £40m retail transformation begun last year has seen the unveiling of the UK's largest Zara airport outlet alongside nine other major brands, including Superdry, Victoria's Secret and Ted Baker, over the past few months.

Gatwick selected these new brands based on passenger feedback. More than half (56%) of passengers wanted more high street and international brands, 38% asked for premium department stores and 22% called for designer brands.

This follows the opening of 11 new and revamped shops in August last year, including the airport debuts of Aspinal of London and Ernest Jones.

'The completion of the South Terminal International Departure Lounge takes airport shopping and the passenger experience to a whole new level,' commented Spencer Sheen, head of retail at London Gatwick.

'Our new retail space not only demonstrates our forward thinking but also our desire to deliver on what our passengers ask for, be it a luxury department store or a high-street favourite.'ADNFCR-408-ID-801694205-ADNFCR
