Burma wins tourism award
11 Mar 2014

Burma has been named as the World's Best Tourist Destination by the European Council on Tourism and Trade.
The award is widely recognised as one of the highest accolades in the global travel and tourism industry, the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism said.
Of course, tourism represents one of the most prosperous industries in the country at the moment and the latest accolade is only likely to further that even more.
Speaking to Irrawaddy, Aung Zaw Win, director general of the ministry, stressed the importance of the award.
He added: "All types of tourism are available in Myanmar.
"We can offer marine tourism, cultural tourism, ecotourism, community tourism, trekking, other things and also snow-capped mountains."
One of the main attractions of Burma as a tourist destination is the diverse range of indigenous cultures that exist in the country.
Indeed, no trip to the country is complete without taking the time to sample some of the local culture.ADNFCR-408-ID-801702393-ADNFCR
