Singapore named world's most expensive city
12 Mar 2014

A new report has named the glamorous city of Singapore as the most expensive on earth, topping a list of 131 cities globally.
The study, conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit, said that this was largely because of the high cost of running a car allied to escalating utility bills.
What's more, the report said that it is also the most expensive place in the world to buy clothes.
The announcement sees Singapore claim the top spot from Tokyo, which topped the list last year. Paris, Oslo, Zurich and Sydney made up the remainder of the top five.
"Improving sentiment in structurally expensive European cities combined with the continued rise of Asian hubs means that these two regions continue to supply most of the world's most expensive cities,"remarked Jon Copestake, the editor of the report.
"But Asian cities also continue to make up many of the world's cheapest, especially in the Indian subcontinent."ADNFCR-408-ID-801702819-ADNFCR
