The upcoming World Cup in Brazil promises to be one to remember as the beautiful game makes its way back to what many experts regard as its spiritual home.

The local fans are sure to make this a tournament to remember, while the fact that they go into the event as one of the favourites creates an extra layer of intrigue.

Certainly, many of the biggest names from the past and present are already counting down the days until the big kick off.

Chief among these is two-time World Cup winner Ronaldo, who led his country to victory at the 2002 event in Japan and South Korea.

"Even though I won't be out there on the field, I'm starting to get the same butterflies in the stomach as I used to do before a big game," he told the FIFA website.
