French agency targets British holidaymakers
25 Mar 2014

Atout France, the French tourism development agency, has launched its plan to attract more visitors from the UK.

It is, in fact, the biggest ever advertising campaign in its history and will operate under the creative banner of 'What's your Tour de France?'.

The overarching ambition behind the campaign is to reestablish France as Brits' favourite holiday destination once more, having come in for stiff competition from places like Spain and Greece.

Gwenaelle Maret-Delos, director of Atout France UK and Ireland, explained: "For many years we have been advertising across each region, but the general France message sent to the consumer is not present and strong enough in their minds.

"We want to put France back on the tourism map, and reignite the old love affair between the UK and France."

It has been revealed that the campaign, which is costing £2 million, will cover press, online and outdoor advertising, which ought to lead to a spike in tourist numbers.ADNFCR-408-ID-801706580-ADNFCR
