UAE reveals efforts to boost tourist numbers
25 Mar 2014

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has taken further steps that could lead to a spike in tourist numbers from Europe in the coming months and years.

That's because the local government has decided to introduce visa-free travel for the remaining 13 EU member states, including Bulgaria, Croatia and Cyprus.

It ought to be noted that the decision is largely seen as a response to the European Parliament's move to approve visa-free travel for UAE citizens to the Schengen Area of the continent.

One possible consequence of the decision could be that business between Cyprus and the UAE increases.

This comes shortly after a report confirmed that the UAE received in excess of 582,000 cruise tourists in 2013, with the figure expected to reach 600,000 this year.

Dubai welcomed as many as 386,000 cruise tourists in 2013 and has launched marketing initiatives to increase this number in the years ahead.ADNFCR-408-ID-801706578-ADNFCR
