28 Mar 2014

A new report has underlined the value of the local tourism industry to the economy of Saudi Arabia.

According to new research, the tourism industry in this part of the Middle East will create as many as 1.7 million jobs over the next six years.

The announcement has been made by the Elaf Group, which cited a report by the Saudi Commission on Tourism and Antiquities.

It was announced that the tourism sector accounts for 2.6 per cent of the local economy, which is largely reliant on oil money.

And concerted efforts are being made to stimulate the economy in this world, with the Saudi Travel and Tourism Investment Market set to stage discussions about a number of issues relating to the tourism industry.

This comes shortly after it was revealed that Dubai Airports witnessed double-digit traffic growth at Dubai International for the seventh consecutive month during February.

Passenger traffic struck 5,675,246 in February 2014, rising 11.7 per cent.ADNFCR-408-ID-801707851-ADNFCR
