Report reveals cheapest holiday destinations
4 Apr 2014

A new report has revealed the cheapest holiday destinations for people in the UK, with the study based on the cost of 12 typical holiday purchases.

These buys include things like hotel accommodation and an evening meal for two with wine, among other things.

The list is topped by the Hungarian capital of Budapest, which has the river Danube running through the centre of it.

In second place is the city of Vilnius, which is somewhere you may never even have heard of before, let alone visited.

Thereafter, the list is rounded off by Warsaw, Prague, Lisbon, Riga, Tallinn, Dubrovnik, Istanbul and Brussels.

Speaking about the prospect of visiting the Czech Republic, Andrew Brown of Post Office Travel Money said: “We found that a meal for two with wine in Prague cost £22, less than half the price charged in 17 other cities across Europe.”

Meanwhile, costs in Paris were noted to have increased by six per cent.ADNFCR-408-ID-801710145-ADNFCR
