Time more important than money to travellers, survey shows

A new poll has revealed that travellers in the US are more concerned about saving time than they are about saving money.

The research, conducted by The Go Group, asked participants whether they prefer to book non-stop flights, even if they were more expensive, or if they would choose the cheapest flights, regardless of whether they require extra stops.

The survey canvassed the opinions of 350 people who travel regularly, revealing that there is minimal difference between men and women.

Some 64 per cent of men and 60 per cent of women said that they would choose non-stops in order tosave time.

"These results indicate that today's travelers value their leisure time and want to spend more of it on actual vacation than in airports or on board planes," John McCarthy, president of The GO Group, commented.

"Finding ways to accommodate those preferences should be a priority for companies in all areas of thehospitality business." ADNFCR-408-ID-801712115-ADNFCR
