23 Apr 2014

The BBC series A History of the World in 100 Objects was a captivating and fascinating look at our planet’s past and this has now been brought to life in a new exhibition.

The installation is being hosted at Manarat Al Saadiyat on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi and is scheduled to run for 100 days from 23 April.

Among the items on show will be a cast bronze hand from Yemen that dates from between 100 and 300 CE, as well as a conceived prototype foot-controlled car that was created by Reem Al Marzouqi.

Pieces from numerous time periods and various regions of the world will be on display in this exciting exhibition.

Becky Allen, the British Museum curator behind the event, commented: ‘Whether ancient or modern, all the objects in the exhibition express human hopes, desires and ambitions.’

As well as the chance to see the pieces themselves, visitors can get involved in a series of workshops, seminars and tours that have been created to focus on individual objects and to get people talking about what they experience here.ADNFCR-408-ID-801714255-ADNFCR
