Australia set to see tourism spike
24 Apr 2014

Tourism experts in Australia have speculated that the recent royal visit will have a dramatic impact on the local industry.

The ten-day visit has seen the couple and their new son take in a huge number of historic landmarks, as well as attend formal functions as part of their ambassadorial responsibilities.

And experts have speculated that the trip could do wonders for the country's tourism industry. Indeed, it has been suggested it could prompt a $50-60 million spike in tourist spending.

Blue Mountains Lithgow & Oberon Tourism chief executive Randall Walker underlined the influence of the couple, saying: "It‘s really about the awareness that the royal couple bring from their visit and through helping to communicate an experience.

“It has a priceless impact on consumer behaviour.”

In fact, some destinations have already reported a marked increase in tourist numbers since the royals visited and it is thought that this will occur elsewhere.ADNFCR-408-ID-801714940-ADNFCR
