More Brits planning to holiday abroad
24 Apr 2014

Even though holiday budgets are diminishing, a new report has claimed that the number of Brits who intend to go abroad this year has increased.

Research found that in excess of nine in ten Brits are hoping to holiday abroad in 2014, up from 83 per cent a year earlier.

The numbers suggest that concerns over the state of personal finances may be receding. On the flipside, the amount of money that a British household is willing to spend on a holiday has fallen.

Budgets are down by as much as seven per cent, according to the report, which surveyed more than 60,000 holidaymakers.

“Exploration is back on the agenda in 2014, with more travellers planning international trips this year,” Marc Charron, the president of TripAdvisor for Business, commented.

“Travellers are upping their budgets but they are looking for bargains, expecting their accommodation of choice to deliver on value. Special offers, complimentary amenities and exceptional service are all going to be important factors in swaying potential guests.”ADNFCR-408-ID-801714932-ADNFCR
