Dubai International welcomes record number of passengers
29 Apr 2014

New figures have confirmed that more than six million passengers went through Dubai International airport in March 2014.

This is largely the result of the expanding networks of Emirates airline and flydubai. That is according to the research conducted by Dubai Airports, which revealed that this is the third time in four months the airport has seen record monthly traffic.

Some 6,285,868 passengers passed through the airport in March 2014, which is a rise of 7.5 per cent from the 5,846,297 achieved in the same month in 2013.

What's more, in the first three months of the year, a record 18,361,820 passengers went through the airport, rising 11.4 per cent from the 16,486,417 passengers seen in the first quarter of 2013.

“The growth in passenger and freight traffic supports our continued investment in expanding and improving our facilities at Dubai International," commented Paul Griffiths, chief executive of Dubai Airports.

“We not only want to increase our capacity to accommodate more passengers but continually refine the service we offer our customers."ADNFCR-408-ID-801716359-ADNFCR
