New research has revealed that Morocco and Tunisia both witnessed double digit growth in 2013.

Indeed, it has been revealed that UK visitors to Morocco rose 28.7 per cent on the year before, while Tunisia saw a 17 per cent spike.

Spain was, however, the top destination for UK tourists who went abroad last year.

What's more, holiday visits were up four per cent to see friends or family, but business trips slumped 1.9 per cent.

The research also found that last year witnessed the highest number of tourists and spend to the UK since the International Passenger Survey began in 1961.

This comes shortly after it was revealed that an increasing number of tourists turn to online reviews before booking a holiday or for tips on their chosen destination.

TripAdvisor, for instance, said that more than 150 million reviews and opinions have been posted on the site.ADNFCR-408-ID-801719212-ADNFCR
