Cyprus aims to become year-round holiday destination
27 May 2014

Cyprus is already a hugely popular tourist destination with Brits and holidaymakers from elsewhere – and officials on the island have stated their ambition to see it become a year-round location.

One of the main attractions of holidaying in this part of the world is the beautiful sunshine that is on offer during the summer months.

However, there is hope that the country will be able to attract even more visitors during the so-called off-season.

This ambition has been outlined by Cyprus Travel Agents president Victoras Mantovani, who also said that he expects to see a rise in domestic tourism, too.

“Certainly the economic crisis still exists, pockets and wallets are not as loaded as they used to be and this influences their options,” Mr Mantovani said.

“They will choose closer destinations, lower quality hotels, instead of 7 days they will travel for five…The numbers will increase without this meaning that it will be an increase in profitability because when packages are cheaper and hotel quality lower, the profitability is reduced.”ADNFCR-408-ID-801723294-ADNFCR
