London is home to some of the world's most historic and iconic theatres, where you will always find that there are lots of top shows being staged.

In terms of pure entertainment, there are few, if any, cities that can quite compare, and no trip to the capital is complete without taking the time to enjoy at least one of the shows.

And it has just been confirmed that one of the most iconic plays in recent years is to return to the London stage, much to the excitement of fans everywhere.

The Crucible is among the most famous plays and it is set to return to the Old Vic in London, in what is sure to be a show to look forward to.

It has been announced that the new production is to be directed by the highly acclaimed Yael Farber, who has won numerous awards during her career and is respected throughout the industry.

Set in the 1950s, the show focuses on Miller's experience of the US attempts to quell communism in the aftermath of the war.

However, if this doesn't sound like your idea of fun, you needn't worry as there are always loads of great plays and musicals on the London stage.

Among the best at the moment is the Book of Mormon, which has been created by the makers of South Park and has been well received by critics.

It has, in fact, broken records on both sides of the Atlantic. The show tells the story of two missionary workers who travel to a remote part of Africa to teach the book of Mormon to the locals.

They quickly find, however, that the population is more concerned with everyday issues, such as famine and the spread of disease. If you're keen to enjoy a few laughs, this is one show that is well worth seeing for yourself.ADNFCR-408-ID-801723340-ADNFCR
