Things to do in London this summer
29 May 2014

There is a huge amount set to take place in London over the summer months and if you're lucky enough to have a holiday planned for this point in time, you really ought to take advantage of at least a few of these.

Here, we're going to take a look at some of the best events planned in the capital this summer.

Music festivals

There are a number of great music festivals set to take place in the capital this summer, including Wireless and Lovebox.

The latter of these has a stellar line-up planned, including M.I.A. and hip-hop icon Nas, who will be performing songs from his legendary debut album Illmatic, which went on sale 20 years ago.

Alternatively, you could spend a night at the Proms, the largest music festival of its kind in the UK.

Tickets are available now and this is a great way of developing your understanding and appreciation of classical music.

Top landmarks

The capital is, of course, home to an incredible collection of landmarks, some of which are among the most popular tourist attractions in the city.

St Paul's Cathedral, the Shard and numerous others are well worth seeing this summer, not least because they will look even more spectacular under the beautiful sunshine that has been forecast by experts.

Theatre entertainment

London has a very vibrant theatre scene and no trip to the city is truly complete without seeing a top West End show.

Thankfully, there are plenty to choose from, meaning that you're bound to find something that will tickle your fancy regardless of your taste and budget.

Among the best at the moment are The Book of Mormon - which has been created by the makers of popular US cartoon South Park - and The Lion King, which has been on in the West End for more than ten years.ADNFCR-408-ID-801724248-ADNFCR
