Bookings for stays at hotels in London are looking strong over the coming months, with a number of high-profile events helping to draw visitors to the British capital.

According to data released by TravelClick, the Trooping of the Colours and Royal Ascot appear to be among the most popular events, with nearly two-thirds (60.8%) of the city’s hotel rooms booked during these two weekends.

The Wimbledon Tennis Championships are another reason for people to travel to the capital this month, with the organisation revealing that almost half (48%) of capacity is taken up during the two weeks of the tournament, which begins on 22 June.

Other big events coming up in London this summer include the Hampton Court Palace Festival, Pride in London and the City of London Festival 2014 in June and July, while August will see the likes of the Notting Hill Carnival, BBC Proms 2014 and the Longines Global Champions Tour equestrian event all taking place.
