Jordan promotes Indiana Jones experience

To mark the 25th anniversary of the release of the third Indiana Jones movie - the Last Crusade - tourism officials in Jordan are suggesting that travellers have their very own Indiana-inspired experience at Petra.

This striking UNESCO World Heritage Site was famously the location used for the resting place of the Holy Grail in the Harrison Ford epic.

Fans of the films will no doubt remember the scene of Indie riding a horse down the winding Siq Gorge away from the Treasury at the end of the movie and you too can gallop (or trot) along the passageway, not to mention explore the rest of this incredible sight.

While movie lovers will certainly be excited to see the Treasury in all its glory, the rest of Petra is equally breathtaking, with its incredible tombs, the Ad Deir Monastery and even the remains of a Byzantine church with amazing mosaic floors just waiting to be uncovered.
