Carpeaux exhibition comes to Paris
30 Jun 2014

A new exhibition focused on artist Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux has just opened in Paris, having been on show in New York earlier this year.

'Carpeaux (1827-1875): A Sculptor for the Empire' will be in the French capital, at the Musee d'Orsay, until September 28th 2014.

It comes after the same show, the joint work of the Musee and New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, was displayed in the States between March and May this year.

Organisers say it's the first time a retrospective has been devoted to the artist's illustrations, painting and sculptures for nearly 40 years - the last such show having taken place in 1975.

Visitors looking to take a trip to the Musee d'Orsay should note that it does not open on Mondays. But other Parisian art venues, such as The Louvre and The Pompidou Centre (which specialises in modern art) are open on that day.ADNFCR-408-ID-801732255-ADNFCR
