'The Composer is Dead' show hits sydney

Next month, the Sydney Opera House is set is set to present Lemony Snicket’s The Composer Is Dead, a family friendly musical experience.

The author of famous children's titles such as the A Series of Unfortunate Events books, Snicket (real name Daniel Handler) wrote the piece with Nathaniel Stookey, a composer, as a way of teaching children about orchestras.

In this production, comic Frank Woodley and the Sydney Youth Orchestra will perform.

The piece will see detective Woodley investigating every instrument in the orchestra, hoping to discover a murderer.

"Audiences will delight in learning about the orchestra through the investigation of this classical music crime," said Bridgette Van Leuven, head of children, families and education at Sydney Opera House Presents.

There are two afternoon performances of the show planned, at 12.30pm and 3pm on August 9th.ADNFCR-408-ID-801735487-ADNFCR
