Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield welcomes sculpture
23 Jul 2014

A new work of art has been introduced to Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield. A sculpture stretching up four metres in height called the Yorkshire Man of Steel, by Steve Mehdi, is going to be on show there throughout the summer holiday period.

Mehdi is placing the work in a number of different places as a way of promoting the fact that a 30-metre version is being planned for Rotherham. Previous local locations that the sculpture has visited include Sheffield train station and the Magna museum.

"It’s fantastic to see the Yorkshire Man of Steel sit within Doncaster Sheffield Airport. Wherever it goes the sculpture attracts a lot of interest and it will be the same here as thousands of passengers pass through the airport," commented Mr Mehdi.

It's possible to fly to a range of over 30 different destinations from Doncaster Sheffield Airport.ADNFCR-408-ID-801737290-ADNFCR
