Film lovers could be heading to Italy's first cinema theme park on their Rome breaks after the doors to the attraction were thrown open.

After more than a decade of development work, Cinecitta World is finally ready to welcome visitors and eight film sets and 20 attractions are available to visitors.

Park chairman Emmanuel Gout told the Hollywood Reporter that Cinecitta World provides tourists with 'space for personal imagination'.

He said: 'What we're able to do is offer a place for shooting movies, where you can excite your imagination for cinema.'

Movie lovers heading to Cinecitta World can enjoy four restaurants and four theatres during their visit to the attraction, which is based at the former studios of Dino De Laurentiis, which was known as Dinocitta.

The theme park even has its own soundtrack, written by Oscar-winning composer Ennio Morricone, who is known for scores such as Days of Heaven, The Untouchables and Once Upon A Time In America. Dante Ferretti, who has three Academy Awards for art direction, was also involved in the project.

Tourists will also be able to visit the nearby Castel Romano Designer Outlet during their trip to Rome. The shopping centre is known as one of the best outlet malls in Rome.ADNFCR-408-ID-801738999-ADNFCR
