Fenerbahce FC touch down at Robin Hood Airport

Late last month saw Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield get a visit from members of well-known Turkish football club Fenerbahce FC.

They were in South Yorkshire to play a friendly game with local team Sheffield United. The game was to celebrate United's 125th birthday, and the Sheffield team got a great birthday present, as they won two-one.

Fenerbahce FC players and officials arrived in South Yorkshire using a special chartered flight to Robin Hood Airport.

The return flight from South Yorkshire took place on August 1st, with representatives of Fenerbahce FC flying from Robin Hood Airport. The airport provides flights to over 30 places globally.

Recently it announced that it had become temporary home to a sculpture called the Yorkshire Man of Steel, currently on show in its terminal building.

This four metre tall artwork is a smaller version of a 30 metre Man of Steel that's set to be put up in Rotherham.ADNFCR-408-ID-801739842-ADNFCR
