New July passenger record for Edinburgh Airport
11 Aug 2014

Over 1.1 million passengers used Edinburgh Airport last month.

The overall 1,104,264 passengers was a 1.8 per cent increase on July 2013.

Edinburgh is the first Scottish airport ever to see this many passengers in July.

There was a four per cent rise in international passengers, to 661,220 and a 1.3 per cent rise in domestic passengers, to 443,044.

The airport first saw over one million passengers during a single month in summer 2013.

"Breaking the 1.1 million passenger mark in July was another milestone for us and I’m delighted to be celebrating this with our teams across the airport who work hard to give passengers a great experience," commented airport chief executive, Gordon Dewar.

He noted that the number of airline tickets that the airport processed during last month, piled up, would be almost twice as tall as its air traffic control tower.ADNFCR-408-ID-801741313-ADNFCR
