Level 2 Airport Carbon Accreditation for London City Airport

Level 2 Airport Carbon Accreditation for London City Airport
13 Aug 2014

Airports Council International Europe's Airport Carbon Accreditation has recognised London City Airport's commitment to carbon footprint reduction.

The Airport Carbon Accreditation process encourages decreasing the amount of carbon such spaces emit, with airports aiming to eventually be carbon neutral.

The airport recently gained Level 2 accreditation as a result of bringing down the level of carbon emissions per each passenger last year. The accreditation is also a result of the location's Carbon Management Plan, which outlines action for future carbon emission cutting.

London City is the UK's fifth airport to be given Level 2 accreditation.

"Since achieving Level 1 accreditation (‘Mapping’) in March 2013 we have been working hard to put in place steps to further reduce our carbon emissions and we are delighted to have been recognised for this work," explained London City Airport CEO, Declan Collier. He said the airport is aiming for Level 3 accreditation next.ADNFCR-408-ID-801741778-ADNFCR
