Free Wi-Fi comes to the National Gallery, London
18 Aug 2014

One of London's most famous galleries, the National Gallery, has just started providing visitors with free Wi-Fi internet access on-site.

It's part of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and Mayor of London supported Super Connected Cities Wi-Fi programme.

The gallery has also introduced a mobile-enabled official website.

The Wi-Fi move heralds plans to improve visitors' experience and engage with a wider range of people, according to Dr Susan Foister, the museum's director of public engagement.

"Along with the free Wi-Fi service we are now welcoming visitor photography: from now on people will be able to share their experience of the Gallery and its paintings with friends and family through social media," the director also said.

The Trafalgar Square based Gallery can be visited 10am to 6pm most days, with Friday opening until 9pm.ADNFCR-408-ID-801742711-ADNFCR
