Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville has just been recreated in wax by Madame Tussauds.

The waxwork is now on show at Madame Tussauds London and Hugh sat for the brand's artists so they could measure him for the sculpture, which was created over a period of months by 24 people.

The actor - who plays Lord Grantham in Downton Abbey - has also been to see the completed figure.

The sculpture is presented in the museum's Party Area, where visitors can also see the likes of Kate Winslet and George Clooney as waxworks.

"It's certainly spooky to see yourself in three dimensions like this. The detail is incredible and scarily accurate. The whole process has been a fascinating experience," Hugh has said.

The new waxwork is wearing a black tie outfit including patent shoes and white shirt. It cost £150,000 to create.ADNFCR-408-ID-801742813-ADNFCR
