Experience Madame Tussauds' Bollywood section in London

Experience Madame Tussauds' Bollywood section in London
20 Aug 2014

Bollywood may be many miles away, but it's well represented in London at the city's Madame Tussauds museum.

The attraction boasts a Bollywood section, which currently includes five actors famed for their work in Indian films, and is very popular.

They will soon be joined by another female actor as the museum recently ran a poll asking people to pick a famous Bollywood face for them to represent in wax, and is set to reveal the winner in the near future.

One of the Bollywood actors in place in the section is Kareena Kapoor, whose sculpture has just had an outfit revamp.

She's wearing a gold and red sari, which mirrors her outfit in the Chammak Chalo musical sequence in her movie Ra.one.

People will be able to see Kareena in her new outfit in London during a limited period of the summer, as it will then go back to Madame Tussauds Blackpool.

And Kareena herself recently dropped by the London branch to see the sculpture - which she even provided the new outfit for.

When the sculpture first came out it wore black clothing featuring silver jewellery.

Madame Tussauds waxwork experts measured and photographed the star in Mumbai for the figure, which cost £150,000 to produce.

"It was an honour to welcome Kareena Kapoor to Madame Tussauds London today to visit her redressed wax figure – particularly as Kareena donated the new outfit herself. Seeing Kareena alongside her figure was a real treat, and I know that fans who saw her today were delighted," Madame Tussauds London general manager Ben Sweet commented earlier this week.

"Kareena’s figure will take pride of place in the attraction’s Bollywood area until late summer, so fans of Indian films still have time to visit!"ADNFCR-408-ID-801743515-ADNFCR
