More than two million Brits will be going to another country this coming bank holiday weekend for holidays, it has been estimated.

According to ABTA, Spain is one of the popular places for Brits to head in the August 22nd to 25th period. Here, Mallorca, Ibiza and The Canary Islands are especially popular.

Greece, Tunisia and Turkey have also been named among the spots Brits are visiting.

“This weekend is set to be one of the busiest of the year as we see lots of holidaymakers heading off for the bank holiday weekend," said chief executive of ABTA, Mark Tanzer.

"Whilst a holiday budget will go further abroad this year thanks to a strong pound, we are also expecting lots of people to enjoy the long weekend at home," he added.

Florida is one of the long-haul locations that ABTA says Brits are travelling to this weekend.ADNFCR-408-ID-801744084-ADNFCR
