BA expects apprenticeship application surge
28 Aug 2014

British Airways announced on August 21st that it was expecting lots of apprentice scheme applications following the recent exam results.

BA is set to take on 175 apprentices in the current year alone and has 12 schemes in IT, engineering and various other parts of its business.

It has seen over 500 student apprentices begin time with it this side of 2010, and a lot of those have ended up working for BA permanently.

"Apprenticeships are a fantastic way of providing young people with a combination of on-the-job training and theoretical education," said executive chairman Keith Williams.

"They are a great foundation for a whole range of highly skilled careers at British Airways and we are proud to offer them."

BA apprenticeship schemes can be taken in London, Cardiff and Glasgow. One BA engineering apprentice, Dan Cusano, recently said his time on the scheme has "allowed me to experience so many different parts of engineering".ADNFCR-408-ID-801745274-ADNFCR
