London Science Museum names architects for medicine galleries
28 Aug 2014

London's Science Museum recently gave confirmation that its forthcoming new medicine galleries are set to be designed by Wilkinson Eyre Architects.

“Wilkinson Eyre’s designs conveyed a real sensitivity for the Museum’s unrivalled medical collections and the gallery space," said Science Museum director of Masterplan, Karen Livingstone.

"Their approach will create an elegant and contemporary space to display beautiful objects and tell compelling human stories.”

The galleries come at a cost of £24 million and are set to be finished during 2018.

The museum's first floor will be transformed, with the new galleries spanning over 300 square metres.

They are an aspect of the Science Museum Masterplan, a scheme to revamp about one third of the museum overall, during the coming five years.

Other London museums include the British Museum and Natural History Museum. ADNFCR-408-ID-801745075-ADNFCR
