Visitors heading from the UK to take holidays in Florida will soon be able to enjoy a new attraction dedicated to Frozen, one of Disney's biggest ever hits.

The company has announced new plans to build a Frozen ride at the Epcot Park area of its famous Florida setting. The attraction, based on the movie's Arendelle kingdom, will be situated in the Epcot Norway Pavillion, where it will be replacing the Maelstrom ride.

The announcement came as part of a blog post from Disney Parks & Resorts chairman Thomas Staggs on Friday (September 12th), in which he said it would be adding Frozen to a number of its biggest parks across the next few months. It is part of a new move that will build on the character appearances that have been taking place in Disney parks from Frozen favourites since the movie became a massive success.

Frozen was released in November of 2013, and it went on to become the fifth highest grossing movie of all time, taking $1.27 billion at the box office.

Speaking in more depth about the new attraction at Epcot Park, Mr Staggs said that the pavillion will see guests taken to Arendelle and immerse them in many of their favourite moments and music from the film. The pavilion will also include a royal greeting area where kids can meet Anna and Elsa and other favourites from the film.

As well as a dedicated attraction, Frozen will also have a bigger presence in Disney destinations from November, when the Magic Kingdom's iconic Cinderella Castle will be transformed into a Frozen-inspired ice palace every night during the month.

Speaking of the opportunities that the success of the movie brought about, Mr Staggs wrote: "When Walt Disney promised that Disneyland would never be completed, so long as there is imagination left in the world, he made a promise to our guests that we take seriously at all our locations around the world.

"This year, one particular product of imagination — Disney Animation’s blockbuster hit Frozen — captured the hearts and minds of people around the world and gave us a new opportunity to make good on Walt’s pledge."ADNFCR-408-ID-801748769-ADNFCR
