Copenhagen is the world’s greenest city...again
22 Oct 2014

There is good news aplenty for those heading to Copenhagen as the Danish capital has been announced by the Global Green Economy Index (GGEI) as the world’s greenest city.

In fact, Copenhagen is so clean and energy efficient that this is the second year running that the city has won this great accolade.

When it came to marking Copenhagen within the GGEI, the city gained a perfect score of 100 on Leadership & Climate Change, Markets & Investment, Efficiency Sectors and Environmental & Natural Capital.

Interestingly enough, Denmark wasn’t named the greenest country as Sweden took the title.

Copenhagen beat 69 other cities, with Amsterdam coming in at second place, Stockholm in at third, Vancouver at fourth and London fifth.

Speaking to the Børsen business newspaper, the city’s mayor, Frank Jensen, said: “In Copenhagen we have a goal to be CO2 neutral by 2025 and that is a target that I hope and believe that many of my colleagues around the world will be inspired by”.ADNFCR-408-ID-801755826-ADNFCR
