Melnikov House to be opened to public in Moscow

Moscow’s Melnikov House is to be opened as a museum to the public this December.

The iconic building, which belonged to the late architect Konstantin Melnikov, will be available for tours of groups up to five people, due to the structural damage, and still needs various renovations.

Visitors of the avant-garde building will be able to witness first hand various personal belongings and furniture on display that belonged to the architect himself, as well as his son, Viktor Melnikov, the painter.

Konstantin Melnikov was born in 1890 and was known as one of the leaders in Russia’s avant-garde movement and his house is known all over the world for being one of the most important symbols of 20th century architecture and culture.

The house was designed and built by the architect during his ‘Golden Season’ between 1927 and 1929.ADNFCR-408-ID-801756680-ADNFCR
