Welsh town gets novel tour guides

Tourists heading to the Welsh town of Llandudno may find themselves down the rabbit hole if they use a novel new tourist app.

To celebrate next year’s 150th anniversary of the publication of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, a new app which highlights the town’s links with the stories has been developed.

It is hoped that the app will encourage tourists to visit the town, which was where the inspiration for the literary character, Alice Liddell, often went on holiday.

Visitors can expect to see the famous characters, which include Alice, the Mad Hatter and the March Hare. They will appear in cartoon form with the ‘real world’ in the background.

Simon Burrows, co-director of Alice in Wonderland Limited, said: "People who use the app can look at Llandudno landmarks on screen, while characters from the Alice books tell the story behind them.

"It's also possible to take a picture of yourself or your friends standing next to the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat or Alice herself."ADNFCR-408-ID-801756592-ADNFCR
