Queen Victoria maiden voyage sells out
08 March 2006
The owners of the new cruise ship the Queen Victoria have announced that her maiden voyage in December 2007 has sold out.
People began to sign up to be the first on the new vessel in 2002 and now the ten-night voyage that will take in Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Oslo and Hamburg has sold out.
Stopping off in Amsterdam voyagers will be able to take in a great variety of sites, from just strolling along canals and heading to the Royal Palace to exploring the Netherlands' national treasure the Rijksmuseum, which is currently celebrating the 400th anniversary of the birth of Rembrandt with a great selection of exhibitions.
A night out in Copenhagen offers a wide selection of options.
The city has Michelin star for those who want to enjoy the best, while more traditional restaurants offer smorredbrod, which consists of open sandwiches with a great variety of fillings.
The ship itself will have a lot more than one would expect from an ocean liner, including a theatre, a museum along with modern day luxuries and a classic design.
For those that think a December northern European cruise might be a little chilly, the second voyage, over Christmas, heads to Lisbon, Malaga, Las Palmas, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Casablanca and Gibraltar.
