Copenhagen and Brussels boast best European airports
09 March 2006

Belgium's Zaventem Airport and Denmark's Copenhagen Airport have been named jointly the best in Europe.

At the Airports Excellence Awards, based on the opinions of 100,000 travellers, the two airports shared the title of Europe's best.

Switzerland's Zurich Airport took second place and the third best airport was named as Finland's Helsinki Airport.

The best airport in the Americas was Halifax, followed by Ottawa and Denver.

The Asia Pacific region was won by Korea's Incheon International Airport, which also picked up the best worldwide airport and most improved airport titles.

Dubai was awarded with the honour of being the best airport in the Middle East/Africa.

Airports Council International director general Robert J Aaronson said: "The true winners are the airport customers who are beneficiaries of the airports' drive to make sure that their facilities and services meet the highest standards of excellence."
