BA launches new route to Milan
15 March 2006

British Airways (BA) has announced a new route from London to Italy as well as increases in its service to Scotland.

Flying between London City Airport and Milan on its regional carrier, BA Connect, the new daily service will begin on May 2nd.

Fashionistas and shopaholics eager to travel to the Italian fashion capital can do so from prices as little as £89 return, including taxes, fees and charges.

Flights to Edinburgh, where visitors can see famous attractions including the Castle, Royal Mile and the elegant Georgian facades of the New Town, are proving to be extremely popular, resulting in an increase in BA's service to the Scottish capital.

BA Connect is to increase its daily schedule between London City Airport and Edinburgh from five to seven flights in response to growing demand from customers.

Commenting on the changes in service, David Neill, head of commercial development for BA Connect, said: "These are two great European cities offering visitors a rich and diverse range of attractions across the whole of the cultural spectrum, including architecture, the visual arts and music."

BA has also announced that new routes are being offered from Birmingham to Berlin and Belfast.

Although there will be additional capacity on the Birmingham to Geneva service, BA's London City to Geneva will be withdrawn for the summer season.
