Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes's wedding is one of the most hotly anticipated showbiz events of the year, but they may have already snuck down the aisle, unofficially.

The National Enquirer reports that the pair took to the high seas around the Caribbean island of Aruba on board a luxury yacht to tie the knot.

However, the wedding, in front of John Travolta and Kirstie Alley among other guests, was a Church Of Scientology ceremony, so the official big day is expected later this year.

Aruba, off the coast of Venezuela, offers a great wealth of attractions but most people go to enjoy the water.

Traditional options such as scuba diving, sailing and fishing can be found alongside more modern pastimes, parasailing and kitesurfing.

Touring the island you can go off-roading and head into Aruba's outback or experience a safari and see Aruba's unique wildlife.

For those more adventurous the island also offers horseback tours so you can really get away from the rat race.

Aruba also has a great selection of family activities, which will be useful for Tom and Kate if they decide to return for a honeymoon as the birth of their child is expected soon.
